CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King, who is also a longtime friend of media mogul Oprah Winfrey, responded to the possibility of Winfrey running in the next presidential election.
Earlier this week, Winfrey made headlines and caused a flood of joy on social media after it was revealed in an interview on Bloomberg Television that suggested she would consider a presidential bid in 2020.
“I thought, ‘I don’t have the experience, I don’t know enough …now I’m thinking, ‘Oh, oh,'” Winfrey stated in the interview that was taped back in December.
However, King said Thursday on CBS that Winfrey’s comments were “clearly a joke.”
“I would bet my first, second born and any unborn children to come, that ain’t never happening… N-E-V-A-H,” she continued.

Winfrey, 63, endorsed Hillary Clinton last year saying, “…I’m with her… there really is no choice, people … You don’t have to like her. Do you like this country?”
“Regardless of your politics, it’s a seminal moment for women… what this says is, there is no ceiling, that ceiling just went boom! It says anything is possible when you can be leader of the free world,” Winfrey continued.
We’re still keeping our fingers crossed on this one.
