NeNe Leakes wasn’t the only star to get hitched over the weekend. Famed Star Wars creator George Lucas wed his longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson on Saturday night.
People reports the couple jumped the broom in a ceremony in Marin County, California, also the home of Skywalker Ranch.
Close friend Samuel L. Jackson was in attendance and tweeted, “Let’s give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his bride Mellody on this, their wedding day.”
Lucas and Hobson got engaged in January after seven years of dating. This is his second marriage and her first.
In addition to being the chairman of Dreamworks, Hobson is the head of the Chicago-based investment management firms Ariel Investments LLC. and Ariel Mutual Funds. The latter two companies are among the largest African-American-owned companies in the United States.
