George Zimmerman, the man charged with murdering Trayvon Martin, now has a list of demands in exchange for press interviews. According to his lawyer, Mark O’Mara, Zimmerman asked ABC for shelter and security for himself and his wife for a month.
Zimmerman had his first television interview with Fox New’s Sean Hannity earlier this week. He was in talks to do a second interview with ABC, but after demanding shelter and security, the network decided to retract their plans, reports CNN.
The View host Barbara Walters told viewers the interview with Zimmerman was canceled after he demanded “a condition that we could not agree to.” He later called in to the show but Walters refused to talk. “If you could not do the interview yesterday, I don’t think we should do a quick one today,” she told the audience. “If in the future you feel different, we will consider it.”
Zimmerman is currently released on $1M bail and has relaunched his personal website to raise money for his legal defense. O’Mara described his client’s financial status as “basically broke.”
