R&B royalty Ashanti, Usher and Super Bowl-winning head coach of the Pittsburg Steelers Mike Tomlin are among those being honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) today. They are a part of a group of alumni who will be inducted into their Hall of Fame on May 14. Also on the list of honorees are President of the community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, J. Barry Griswell, Radio One and TV One founder Cathy Hughes, and former NFL great Judge Tim Irwin. Actor Courtney B. Vance, another BGCA alum, will be on hand as emcee.
The event will be at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, where each of the leaders will be commended for their continued commitment to the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs. The event will kick off the organization’s 103rd National Conference.—WLW
