Some New York fashionistas prefer to do “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” but when I heard The House of Guerlain was hosting a breakfast at Saks Fifth Avenue to preview their new parfum Idylle, I knew that’s where I had to be. Greeted by Raymond Western, Guerlain National Education Director, I instantly embarked on a beautiful journey of sense and smell.
Composed of two major harmonies, a Mist of Flowers and Chypre, Idylle is a fragrance that will ignite your need for romance. One of the most interesting raw ingredients, the Bulgarian Rose was handpicked and constructed into a unique fruity fragrant rose blend. Like other Guerlain classics, ‘Idylle is inspired by women who dream of a perfect love.’ As I took in each facet of this sensual and highly intoxicating scent, Western explained that Idylle is intended to be a timeless message of love. From the lilies to the white musk, each spritz is a mist of flowers on the skin. “For Idylle, I imagined a bouquet of fresh and sensual flowers, a symbol of love,” says Thierry Wasser, who created Idylle for his debut as a perfumer for Guerlain.
If your nose gravitates toward light and joyful aromas like mine, then this is the scent for you to own this fall. Guerlain Idylle is available exclusively at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores and starts at $75, saksfifthavenue.com.
