Halle Berry is not falling into the Hollywood trap of being pressured into losing weight after a baby.
The 47-year-old new mom tells PEOPLE that being healthy and happy is “all that matters.”
“I’m healthy and that’s really good. When you’re nursing you can’t really diet because you have to keep producing milk,” Berry said.
As for changes in her life, post-baby, Berry—also mom to daughter Nahla, 6—says she’s back to less sleep. “I’m working on the TV show, [Extant]. It’s a new grind, it’s a new rhythm. We’re trying to get used to that. We’re managing.”
She also revealed her newborn son Maceo-Robert as “just perfect.” “More love, more joy — having a new baby in your family brings that,” she said.
Berry’s new sci-fi drama, Extant, premieres July 9 on CBS.
