This Kansas-born, Atlanta bred rocker has much to celebrate. This year has been stellar for Monae — she was honored at ESSENCE’s Black Women in Music event in February and at ASCAP’s “Women Behind the Music” ceremony in November.
When it comes to pure talent, it just doesn’t get any better than that.
