Nearly 10 years ago, we met the princess of R&B when she debuted with her self-titled album “Ashanti,” on Irv Gotti’s label, Murder Inc. The album sold more than half-million units in its first week and set a SoundScan record for the most albums sold by a debut female artist, giving her a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Ashanti worked her way into our hearts with smash singles like “Rock With You,” “Baby,” and “Foolish,” as well as taking home a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

Since then, the pop butterfly has released four albums, and recently announced that, after a four-year break, she is back in the studio working on her 5th LP.
