When self-described beauty junkie and Harlem resident Desiree Verdejo, grew tired of going to the beauty supply store for her beauty items, she decided something had to be done. That coupled with investing tirelessly as a corporate lawyer (she was no longer passionate about), she decided to create her own business. After years of hard work, soul searching and exploration, Verdejo opened Vivrant Beauty, Harlem’s newest boutique for all hair textures and skin tones.
“Opening a beauty business in Harlem that will highlight and support so many independent and women-owned brands is a natural fit,” said Verdejo. “I’ve learned so much about launching a brand throughout this journey, so in addition to beautifying the community, my goal is to share this knowledge and inspiration with others.”
Currently, Vivrant Beauty stocks an array of products including Becca Cosmetics, Perfect Blend by Ashunta Sheriff, Mario Badescu, Ren Skincare, Aster + Bay, Briogeo, EDEN BodyWorks, Davines, Hair Rules, Hello Curlies, Girl + Hair, Mischo Beauty, Flo + Theo and several more, but it’s primary focus is featuring products that are natural and work well for Black women.
