Russell Neal, singer with the ’90’s R&B group Hi-Five has been charged with murder after his wife was found dead in their Houston apartment Thursday.
Houston news station KHOU reports that Neal, 39, walked into the Harris County Sheriff Department and informed them that his wife was dead in his apartment and that he needed a lawyer.
Houston police then reportedly forced entry into the apartment and discovered Neal’s wife Catherine Martinez, 24, lying dead under a blanket. According to reports she suffered from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.
Neal told detective s that he and his wife had gotten into an argument; he then refused to answer any further questions and requested a lawyer.
Hi-Five, the R&B group that Neal sung with released their hit single “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game) in 1991.
The couple’s two young sons, aged 3 and 4, are living with relatives.
