Super Bowl is the biggest night on television and what better way to get into the spirit of the game then with your girlfriends? Plan a Super Bowl party for your best friends with help from celebrity wedding planner, Diann Valentine and celebrity event producer, Karleen Roy. These much-sought-after event planners share easy, fun party ideas for your ladies’ only Super Bowl bash:
A Pampered Touchdown
“Women tend not to get as emotionally charged as men while watching the Super Bowl, so it’s the perfect time to schedule some pampering,” says veteran celebrity wedding planner and television host, Diann Valentine. Take this pampering session up a notch by offering hand, feet and leg massages during the game. “The gentlemen of Manly Handz offer mobile massage services for neck and shoulder, back, arm, leg and foot massages delivering a professional and friendly experience. All of your girls will be singing your praises long after the Super Bowl,” adds Valentine.
Say Yes To A Theme-Centric Menu
“Leave the chips and wings for amateurs,” says Karleen Roy, the founder of The Vanity Group, a boutique luxury lifestyle management company specializing in event production, luxury concierge services and talent relations. “Create custom food menu featuring the dishes and drink favorites from Seattle and New England – both major seafood hubs. Load your menu with yummy crab, shrimp, lobster rolls, crab legs galore, Cape Cod chips and New England clam chowder,” shares Roy. Pair your Seattle vs. New England menu with a Super Bowl Sundae dessert bar. “Set up a sundae making station for dessert and for a festive end to the evening, serve a Starbucks Coffee cocktail mix for the post-game coverage,” adds Roy.
ADVICE: Friendship Rules About Guys Never To Break
#Hashtag Activations
You and your girlfriends can’t get together without oversharing on social media. Set up a Super Bowl hashtag for your party and create these fun Instagram worthy activations:
The “Melfie”: Since your fashionista friends will be decked out in their team’s apparel with nail polish to match, set up a fun way to showcase their nicely painted tips. Valentine suggests, “The Melfie, where your friends’ hands become the subject as they strut their fingers down the 50-yard line to get the perfect selfie of their fabulously adorned nails. Use one of your largest shoe boxes and cut off one of the shortest sides. Line all sides of the inside of the box with green AstroTurf and use a white Crayola Paint Marker to stripe it like a football field. Allow your girlfriends to walk the football field runway with their fingers while you snap away at their manicures and give them new content for Instagram.”
Photo Booth Fun: A DIY football photo booth backdrop is something Roy knows will be a hit at your party. “Find a clean white wall in your home to set up the backdrop. Grab the Seattle and New England team logos, team helmets, eye black and fun game-specific props such as Marshawn Lynch inspired gold cleats or oversized Skittles,” states Roy. Download a photo booth app like LiveBooth to a tablet or phone for Instagram memories.
Super Bowling
“If you don’t want to deal with the pressure of hosting your girlfriends at home, gather a few of your girlfriends and head to your local bowling alley where you can play, eat and watch the game on the screens,” shares Roy.
Sunday Cheers!
Beer is the quintessential beverage for Super Bowl Sunday, and it’s the perfect time to try your local brewery’s offerings with a beer-themed party. A brewery or your nearby Whole Foods offer a variety of signature flavored ales that can be perfectly paired with staple Super Bowl foods. Ask your local cicerone for suggestions to create a beer sampling experience. Take your ale to the next level with booze-infused treats like Apple Beer Cupcakes or Bourbon Salted Caramel Frosted Brownies. Have a little fun with a drinking game during the broadcast. Every time your not-so-sporty friend asks which team is winning, drink up!
