The past few months for supermodel Iman have been long and trying.
First, she mourned the lost of her beloved husband of 24-years, David Bowie, in January. Not too long thereafter, her mother also passed away.
Iconic Love: David Bowie and Iman’s Love Through the Years
In a recent episode of Oprah’s: Where Are They Now?, the international beauty opened up about her eternal love for the glam rock icon.
“I think the secret to a lasting marriage is timing,” she said. “You have to be at the right time in your life that you’re ready for an everlasting relationship that it will become first and a priority in their life.”

The couple married in 1992 and were inseparable until Bowie lost his battle with cancer after 18-months. During their union, the couple welcomed a daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones, in 2000.
“If your career is important to you, don’t get married and have children, because something will give. I know as women we want to be able to have it all, but we can’t have it all at the same time. So, make your priority of what you want at that time. Sometimes you don’t even have to get married,” she said. “Why do you have to get married?”
Iman shared that when the couple were at home, they were merely at home–never to get caught up in the Hollywood personas they created to capitalize on their iconic fame.
“We both understand the difference between the person and the persona,” she added. “When we are home, we are just Iman and David. We’re not anybody else.”
