Is Regina King Doing a Shirley Chisholm Biopic?

Black Women in Hollywood honoree Kerry Washington may have let some news slip about friend and colleague Regina King. The actress says King will be playing New York Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm in a biopic, reports The Grio.

“And I just heard that Regina King is doing Shirley Chisholm, perfect casting, which is another story that has to be told,” said Washington for a BMoreNews.com interview.

There’s been quite a bit of buzz surrounding biopics lately. Idris Elba recently confirmed that he’ll be playing Nelson Mandela in an upcoming biopic. Megan Good also made news by revealing that she was working with Whitney Houston on developing a biopic before her untimely death.
