There’s officially no more drama in Mary J. Blige’s life as the Academy Award-nominated actress and singer has finalized her divorce from ex-husband, Kendu Isaacs.
According to The Blast, Blige and Isaacs came to an agreement to settle the legal end of their marriage on Friday.
In June, a judge ordered the songstress to pay $30,000 to her former manager in temporary spousal support which is only a fraction of the nearly $130,000 a month spousal support price tag Isaacs initially demanded.
The pair wed in their New Jersey home in 2003. In July of 2016, Blige filed for divorce and the 2017 ESSENCE Fest headliner described the then-process as “hell.”
“I don’t know if people seen the last eight or five years of my life, but its been hell,” she said. “And its been ugly and its been public and its been nasty. So, in the midst of all that. And the stuff that people don’t even know about — fighting for my life, fighting for my marriage, fighting for my morals and everything — I discovered my strength. My strength, my real strength is discovered.”
We’re glad this chapter of Mary’s life is now over and she can move on for the better.
