Jada Pinkett Smith is speaking out against the lack of diversity present in the 2016 Academy Award nominations.
Pinkett-Smith took to Facebook Monday to deliver a follow-up to her prior message saying, “Is it time that people of color recognize how much power, influence that we have amassed that we no longer need to ask to be invited anywhere?”

“Have we now come to a new time and place where we recognize that we can no longer beg for the love, acknowledgement or respect from any group,” the actress asked.

Pinkett-Smith went on to discuss the concerns many others are expressing, revealing that she won’t be watching or attending the award show this year.
