He doesn’t miss the days of Steve Urkel, the lovable nerd from the sitcom, “Family Matters.”
He tells People, “I don’t [miss playing Urkel]. I really don’t. I’m not trying to get away from it or anything like that, but I don’t miss the role at all — really. I just want to work. I want my daughter to say, ‘I know what Daddy does,’ not ‘what Daddy did.'”

Since playing the iconic TV role, it seems White has been typecast, but he notes that he’s a dynamic actor.

“I’m still chasing that one Vanity Fair tag that says, ‘This guy’s a versatile actor.’ I accept it. It’s fine. But for me, it’s like, what do I have to do to get that [acknowledgement]?” he told People.
Recently White was seen taping an episode of June Ambrose’s new show, “Styled by June” in NYC, and he was on the premiere episode of the sitcom, “Love that Girl!” with Tatyana Ali. Last year, White also wrote, produced and starred in the web series called “Fake It Until You Make It.”
We hope to see him in some more TV roles soon!
