James Hardy, a former wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills and ex-boyfriend of Toya Wright, has died.
Wright sent her condolences to Hardy’s family on Thursday in an Instagram post. “I would like to express my sincere condolences to the Hardy family at this difficult time…may your heart and soul find peace and comfort. #RipJames.”
On May 30, Hardy’s mom reported her son missing. On Wednesday, Fort Wayne Police Department discovered Hardy’s body lodged in a dam in the Maumee River in Indiana. Hardy, who was 31, was originally from Fort Wayne.
The Buffalo Bills also expressed their condolences to their former player, who played for two seasons in 2008 and 2009. “We are saddened to learn of the passing of James Hardy today. We send our condolences to the Hardy family as they deal with this tragic loss,” the Bills wrote in a statement.
The cause of Hardy’s death has not yet been determined. Our thoughts and prayers are with Hardy’s family.
