No matter how hard he makes us laugh or how good he sounds on record; very few people can deny that Jamie Foxx has demonstrated some of his best work in his various acting projects.
Foxx fans will be happy to know the triple-threat is keeping busy on the big screen, this time playing the villain, Electro, in the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Reports started circulating last month about Foxx’s involvement in the project, and he is now confirming the rumors are true.
“I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked,” Foxx said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know, he turns it on.”
Set to hit theaters in May 2014, the film’s storyline follows Spider-Man as he unravels why his parents disappeared when he was young. According to IMBD, other actors set to appear in the film include Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley and Dane DeHaan.
In related news, TNT is developing a new drama co-written and executive produced by Foxx. According to Deadline, Hit will tell the story of two former high school football teammates who are best friends and later drafted by the same team.
