If you haven’t heard K-Beauty has been dominating the market for a good while now. But now it looks like we’ll be borrowing a lot more than skincare secrets from our beauty sisters across the pond; Korean has been the source of some of the hottest makeup innovations as well. So when I stumbled across this colorful brand in Sephora, Chosungah 22, I was hardly surprised that it had Korean Origins. And, while the brand offers a selection of products that every beauty girl could only dream of— we’re talking about you Gelato Hand & Body Yummy Butter Gram and Wonder Juice Sugar Juice— what really caught my attention were these jello-esque balms in the shape of a lipstick bullet.
The Lipstick That Perfected Gugu’s Pout
If you’re like me, you love a good lip balm. The down side of a balm in a pot, however, is that you have to apply it with your fingers. Applying anything with your fingers means that your transfer whatever bacteria that you have on your hands to the products, which is never a good idea. And, if you remember that science experiment from seventh grade, you know that your lip balm is a beauty petri dish for bacteria anyway. In addition to being super hydrating, these Chosungah 22 Flavorful Lipsticks are great because they glide on like a lipstick and they come in four delicious flavors like Chai Tea, Guava, Golden Peach and Jello Orange. If the sleek case and the delicious flavors weren’t enough the faintly tinted sheer balms are vegetable based with hydrating properties that allow the balm to “sink” into your lips and the colors are extracted from natural ingredients. The downside? The balms look good and taste good, so you may pick up a lick-licking habit once you start wearing them. Hey, at least we gave you fair warning!
