While we’re all gushing over Jennifer Hudson’s dramatic weight-loss transformation — the Weight Watchers spokeswoman dropped 80 lbs., transforming from a size 16 to a size 6 — it’s important to remember that the dress size does not make the woman and that a woman can be as fabulous curvy as she is thin. Hudson recently visited “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and said she’s always loved her body…
“It wasn’t that I couldn’t do it,” the Oscar winner told DeGeneres about losing weight. “I just didn’t see anything wrong [with my body] — and I still don’t. I like who I was then, and I liked who I am now.”
Hudson said that she lost the weight to “set a good example” for her 18-month-old son David Otunga, Jr. and that she initially wanted to get back to her pre-baby weight.
“I just knew, after I had my baby, I just wanted my body back. Whatever body that was. That was when I made up my mind. I was going to go for it,” Hudson said. “And then I realized when I was pregnant, I was like, ‘Man, I was wearing the same clothes I was wearing before I was pregnant.’ That was kind of like a wake up call…”
While she’s always been happy with her curves, Hudson admitted to becoming a shopoholic now that her new frame “makes clothes more fun.”
“It’s so bad, Ellen, to the point that I have to throw my clothes up on the canopy of the bed because I don’t have any space in the drawers or the closet. I’ve taken over the bedroom, the guest room and now I’m throwing stuff on top of the canopy.”
The singer also went gaga over son, saying, “He keeps me smiling. He keeps me happy. … He’s full of life and energy and it’s such a blessing.”
Ellen got a glimpse of that happy energy when she shared a little dance with David, Jr. Check out their moves below…
