According to the Huffington Post, the defense and prosecution are expected to make their closing arguments today. Defense attorneys may point out that none of the witnesses directly linked Balfour to the murders.
Once final statements are made, jurors will retreat and deliberate on a verdict.
Just last week it was announced that Balfour’s DNA was not found on the murder weapon. However, forensic scientists insist that male DNA was present. They also concluded that Balfour’s DNA would not be present on the murder weapon if he wore gloves or wiped it down afterwards.
In late April, Hudson took the stand and shared her final meeting with her family. A teary eyed Hudson told the court that her family surprised her at home. “I was so surprised. That was the last time I saw them. Thank God I had the opportunity,” she said.
