Janet Jackson is headed for motherhood and one family member who thinks she’s just the person for the job is her brother Jermaine.
Last month, Janet shocked the world with the announcement that she’d be taking time off from her current tour schedule to start a family.
The 50-year-old entertainer gave few additional details about her family plans until a few weeks ago, when she shared that she’s officially expecting a baby with husband Wissam Al Mana.
Janet Jackson Is Pregnant With Her First Child
Just days after Janet made the announcement, E! News caught up with her older brother Jermaine on the red carpet for the AltaMed Power Up We Are The Future gala to get his reaction to the news. Jermaine was proud to share his excitement over his baby sister having a little one of her own.
“My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine but she is having a baby,” he told the outlet. “A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby and now she’s grown and having a baby.”
As for how he thinks his sister will handle her new role as a mom, Jermaine says Janet will make a great mother because she’s a tough one. “She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict,” he said.

Janet has yet to reveal a due date or the baby’s sex, but big brother Jermaine says he’ll gladly be on standby for parenting advice, adding that he’s “the best diaper changer there is on this planet.”
The newest addition to the Jackson family will be the first child for Janet and her husband Wissam, who wed in a private ceremony back in 2012.
