Jillian Hervey definitely makes waves with her larger-than-life curls. The 26-year-old lead singer of the musical duo Lion Babe has recently become the new ambassador for beauty giant Pantene and now evem more folks are being introduced to her marvelous mane.
You might be surprised to find out that Hervey, who is one of actress Vanessa Williams’ daughters, is a no-fuss kind of girl. While she spends less than 30 minutes on her hair most mornings one of her secretes to those amazing ringlets is nature’s own way of beating the heat. The beauty revealed to Allure how the heat of summer helps mantain her hair’s voluminous appeal.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little sweat. I’m always moving, so it’s normal for me, and it actually makes my curly hair better because it gives it a bit more texture and volume.”
Sweat equals big, textured hair? That’s right — and while one may think she means frizz, she actually means it gives her more volume. She keeps her hair frizz-free by keeping it healthy and strong.
“I think the key to beautiful, frizz-free curls in the summer is to keep hair healthy,” she shares. “It’s really the strength of your hair that causes frizz, not humidity, so it’s really important to me that I keep my curls strong and moisturized to protect my hair from breakage and frizz. It definitely gives my whole summer look a new life!”
