After a Daily Show segment titled “Momsplaining with Desi Lydic” aired Monday, John Legend confronted wife Chrissy Teigen’s mom-shamers with a notable point:
If they both get to share the glory of parenting in the spotlight, why aren’t they splitting the criticism?
Shortly after the delivery of their daughter, Luna Simone, Legend and Teigen went out a dinner date and surprisingly social media critics attacked the new mom for it.

In response, Legend tweeted Tuesday, “Funny there’s no dad-shaming,” he notes. “When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We’ll split it.”

Teigen had addressed her mom-shamers in a tweet with a screen shot of the comments shaming her for attending a dinner date with Legend.

Teigen is not phased. Legend has her back. Mom-shamers can all take a seat. But, Legend, you sir can take a bow for supporting your wife as every husband should. #RelationshipGoals
