Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, 15, was hacked to death Wednesday by five gang members outside of a Bronx deli in a case of a mistaken identity, according to police reports and video of the violent killing.
Guzman-Feliz was mistaken for another person that was caught in a sex tape with one of the attacker’s female family members, the NY Post reports.
Rapper Cardi B, who is from the Bronx, donated $8,000 to the family’s GoFundMe page and posted about the brutal killings on her Instagram page.
“These Bronx streets are ruthless,” she wrote.
Rihanna also took to her Instagram to express dismay over the senseless slaying.
“(C)an’t stop thinking about this poor baby boy, and how his family must feel right now! I’m sincerely praying for your healing and #justiceforjunior,” she said.
Lala Anthony also shared a photo of herself visiting Guzman-Feliz’s makeshift memorial Sunday, saying that “it’s heartbreaking what happened to him.”
The New York Daily News is reporting that the police have five suspects in custody, even tracking one down in the Dominican Republic.
“I don’t really feel happy. They have to pay for what they did. They killed an innocent little child,” Lesandro’s mother Leandra Feliz said after arrests. The killers, who police belive are members of the had sent messages to Guzman-Feliz’s family for the mistaken killing before their arrests.
“The only thing I want is my son back, and I’m not going to have him anymore.”
