Kandi Burruss and fiancé Todd Tucker have been engaged for almost a year, but they’re still waiting on Mama Joyce’s wedding blessing.
The couple appeared on Fox Atlanta recently and confessed that it’s a work in progress. “We’re still working on the approval,” said Burruss.
In the upcoming season of Real Housewives of Atlanta, fans will see Burruss and her mother clash over her relationship. In the trailer, Mama Joyce believes Tucker isn’t being honest with his bride-to-be. In fact, she claims Tucker and Burruss’ friend Carmen are having a relationship.
The couple also discussed plans to debut a new musical about mother-daughter relationships—something Burruss knows all too well. “When it comes to relationships and things, mothers—not just my mother—have a problem letting go,” she said.
A Mother’s Love is inspired by Burruss’ own relationship with her mom. “It goes through the tough times,” she shared. “Obviously, at the end, it’s a wonderful happy ending.”
Despite all of the drama surrounding Mama Joyce’s approval, Burruss and Tucker were still tight lipped on whether or not fans will see them walk down the aisle in the upcoming season. They’ll just have to wait and see how things pan out.
