Oakland teen Akintunde Ahmad is smashing any stereotypes people may have about young Black men. The 17-year-old Oakland Tech student, who sports dreadlocks, achieved a 5.0 GPA and 2,100 on the SAT and has received offers from the likes of Yale, Brown, Columbia and more. “People looking at me funny is so common that it doesn’t stick out for me anymore,” said Ahmad in an interview. “It’s something that I’ve gotten used to.”
