Kudos to Kanye West for debuting his second collection yesterday at Paris Fashion Week, despite less than stellar reviews on his first. His Fall/Winter 2012 line picked up right where he left off — with over-the-top fur and leather looks, but this time working a more cohesive black palette throughout. West went wild with fur trims, crocodile patches and velvet burnout that added personality to the tonal ensembles, but his best looks were executed in the simpler uncomplicated designs, like an over-sized leather top and sleek leather pants. One look at the Givenchy runway collection this season, and it’s obvious designer Riccardo Tisci took Kanye under his wing — not a bad mentor to have.
