Rihanna’s eighth studio album ANTI has been burning up the charts since its release in late January and it looks like West Coast lyricist Kendrick Lamar is just as big a fan as the rest of us!
Earlier this week, the 2016 ESSENCE Festival headliner took a trip with TDE bossman Top Dawg to the car dealership, where Top decided to treat himself to a new whip. Apparently Kendrick was just as excited as Top was for the purchase (maybe even more) and felt inclined to celebrate with an impromptu car-karaoke of Rihanna’s infamous hit “Work.”

Of course, the cameras were rolling to catch KDot in action and needless to say, it was a priceless….and hilarious….moment.
Kendrick then continued on to take a stab at Drake’s “Controlla” before getting back to the task at hand with the rest of his “remixed” version of Rihanna’s “Work,” inspired by Top and his new car.
8 Times ESSENCE Fest Headliner Kendrick Lamar Murdered a Guest Verse
With “Work” recently allowing Rihanna to tie with Michael Jackson’s #3 spot for the artist with the most number one hits in music history, it comes as no surprise that Kendrick finds the song as infectious as the rest of the world.
If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll get to hear more of this when he hits the stage at this year’s ESSENCE Festival.
