Keyshia Cole is slowly making her way back to music and love.
The 32-year-old singer stopped by The Breakfast Club Wednesday morning and dished about her estranged relationship with hubby Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, her new take on relationships, and what celebrity couples she admires.
“Whoever the guy is that I’m going to end up with forever, I want him to be my best friend,” said the Grammy winner. “Like Bey and Jay, I see him like that’s his homie at the end of the day. Tip and Tiny, that’s his homie. Whatever they’re going through, they’re friends and I think that ultimately matters and that’s really what I pray for and what I want now.”
Cole also revealed that cheating played a role in the demise of her marriage, sharing that Gibson admitted to cheating on her three times during the course of the relationship.
“[After the third time] it had to stop,” shared Cole. “It’s like, ‘Okay, you’re not learning and I don’t think you want to.'”
Despite Gibson’s infidelity Cole said she wishes him the best. “Recently I told him I hope you really find that woman and you be good to her.” The two have a 4-year-old son together named Daniel Gibson Jr.
