Tangi Miller stars in and produced Love and Other Four Letter Words. She plays workaholic television host and producer Stormy LaRue, who tells her dying grandmother the lie she is getting married. Her grandmother miraculously recovers, forcing Stormy to fake an engagement and wedding. Miller hopes the film reminds women love is not something you wait for to land on your doorstep.
“If love is something you want, you definitely need to make it a priority in your life early,” she says.
Stormy’s meddlesome and jealous cousins Lucille (Tasha Smith) and Frieda (Sandy Brown) can’t wait to tell her they saw her hired groom working at the strip club.
“You keep [haters] close enough not to kill you but close enough so you know what they are up to. Sometimes they happen to be family so they aren’t going anywhere anyway,” Tangi Miller says. “It’s a very human thing to be jealous. You just pray on it and pray for that person and wish blessings on their lives.”
Stormy (Miller) confides in her grandmother (Aloma Wright) about the wedding being a lie – something Nana already knew.
“My grandmother passed and I felt compelled to tell this story as a tribute to her and all the old school mothers who push us in that direction of settling down,” Tangi Miller says.
Love and Other Four Letter Words explores the career-driven woman and love, and is now available on DVD.
“I want to begin a conversation about relationships and love with this film,” says the film’s producer and star Tangi Miller.
