The 2014 White House Correspondents’ Dinner kicks off tonight in Washington and acclaimed actress Lupita Nyong’o will be in attendance amongst more of Hollywood’s biggest names.
The Oscar winner is set to be joined by her 12 Years a Slave director, Steve McQueen at the Time/ Fortune Table. Kevin Hart, Will.i.am, Michael Strahan and Orange is the New Black star, Uzo Aduba are also expected to be in on tonight’s festivities.
The annual gala, often referred to as “nerd prom,” will be hosted by funnyman Joel McHale who will headline the night’s comedy acts alongside President Obama who has been known for roasting his distinguished guests.
Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for aspiring journalists and awards recognizing excellence in the profession.
