The 2019 ESSENCE Festival saw a year of many firsts for the annual gathering as we celebrated 25 years of moving the culture forward.

Among the highlights of the record-breaking weekend was the launch of the first-ever ESSENCE After Dark series. The official ESSENCE Festival after party series provided a variety of experiences where attendees could continue partying the night away following the Superdome concerts, including the ever-popular ESSENCE After Dark Reggae x Afrobeats event.
