An unidentified man in South Carolina took it upon himself to buy all of a Girl Scout troopโs cookies โ about $540 worth โ so that the children, who were selling them outside in near-freezing temperatures last Friday, wouldnโt have to remain out in the cold.
According to CBS News, the man originally approached the girlโs table and bought seven packs of the famed and addictive cookies. Then he returned shortly after and bought the entire batch, doling out $540.
โWhen he told us to pack up all the cookies because he was going to buy them we were shocked. We stood there in shock for a little while,โ Kayla Dillard, the โcookie managerโ of Troop 1574, said.
Dillard told the news station that it was about 34-degrees in Greenville, S.C. when the man stopped by where the girls were taking part in the annual cookie sale outside a local supermarket.
She wrote about the interaction, sharing a picture of the man and some of the girls.
โThis man purchased 7 packs of cookies. Gave the girls $40, told them to keep the change. Then he came back to the table and said โpack up all of your cookies. Iโm taking them all so yโall can get out of this coldโ $540 he spent on cookies,โ Dillard wrote in the caption. โWhat an amazing soul!!!!โ

That night the girls had sold about 221 boxes of cookies, but still had about a day and a halfโs worth when the man โ who didnโt give his name โ cleared out their stock.
โWe actually had to cancel some of our booth sales this weekend because we didnโt have cookies to sell at the booth because he purchased them all,โ Dillard said.
โThe only information we got out of the man was that he owns several businesses and that he was going to take the cookies to the businesses,โ she added, noting that he declined to give much more information about himself, although he stood for the photo.
โThat man was just a very kind, sincere and humble man who loves children.โ
