A suspect has been arrested and charged with killing Rihanna’s cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, last week in Barbados.
Shawayne Dashawn Williams appeared in court Wednesday to face murder charges. Williams fatally shot the 21-year-old multiple times on Dec. 26 while he was walking home. He then fled the scene while Alleyne was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually died, the Nation News reports.
Rihanna paid tribute to her young cousin in an Instagram post last week.
“RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!“
Williams is being held behind bars until he next court date in late January.
