A Minnesota man faces multiple charges after he allegedly raped and tortured his mentally disabled twin daughters for more than a decade.
The twin girls, who were also starved and held in chains in their Minneapolis home, are now in their 20s. The abuse continued for years until one of the twins escaped and alerted the police last year.
Now, the father, Jerry Lee Curry, is facing charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, abuse of a vulnerable adult, stalking and other crimes after leaving his adult twins with injuries “clinically diagnostic of torture,” according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. A protective order has also been filed against him on behalf of the twins.
He is also said to have fathered two children with one of the girls.
“I don’t ever remember having enough food,” one of the twins said of the experience. “He forced me to have sex, [and] he has done this to me every day since I was [in my] early teens or so. He did this to my twin sister also.”
Police are also on the hunt for the mother of the twins, who has disappeared. According to the Associated Press, prosecutors filed child neglect charges against her, but also want to question her about what she knew.
“It feel[s] so good today to not be chained to the bed,” one of the twins said.
