Mariah Carey stopped by The Today Show to debut music from her new album, Me. I am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.
The diva opened the show singing her hit song, “Touch My Body” and made a smooth transition into her brand new single, ‘You Don’t Know What to do” featuring rapper Wale, who took the stage with Carey to perform the new song.
Mariah sat down with Tameron Hall to talk about everything from “Dem Babies” to what inspired the new album. The singer revealed the title of the album comes from a self-portrait she drew as a 3-year-old. Her mother saved the image that now appears on the back of the new CD.
“What it really is, is from that little girl and who she was and all that it has taken to kind of feel like a complete person,” says Mariah.
Carey also gushed about her family, husband Nick Cannon and their 3-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan who make their music debut on “Supernatural,” a song on the new record.
Mariah finished off the show with a classic as she bellowed out 90’s hit, “You’ll Always be my Baby.”
Fans can pick up Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse May 27.
