Mariah Carey on New 'Divas,' Nicki Minaj and Beyonce

A longtime diva herself, Mariah Carey recently revealed her opinion on today’s “new breed of divas.” In an interview with UK’s Pride Magazine, the expectant mother of two shares what it takes to be a real diva and why she admires Beyonce. With nearly two-decades in music and six Grammys under her belt, Mariah admits that the truest divas are the ones she will remember. “I don’t really follow every new act — they come out constantly. There are so many, it’s often hard to keep track, and sometimes they’re here today and gone tomorrow,” Mariah said. So who’s here to stay?  It looks like Beyonce and Nicki Minaj for now. Mariah said the two women mark the rise of a new diva elite or what she calls, “people who seem destined to be doing this for a living with longevity.” What do you think – are Beyonce and Nicki Minaj life-long divas or will we strut to a new fierce in five years?
