Mary J. Blige would like to see her life story on stage.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul recently signed on to join the cast of NBC’s musical adaption, The Wiz Live, and seems to have gotten bitten by the Broadway bug.
In an interview with Playbill, Blige reveals that she thinks her life story would greatly translate from the studio to the stage.
“I definitely want to see the Mary J. Blige story–or just one of the album cycles–on Broadway,” she said.

The actress, singer, songwriter first hit the music scene in 1991, with her debut album What’s the 411? and has always kept it real about her triumphant life story within her music.
“To just have one of those albums, turns or times on Broadway would be crazy,” she continued.
Blige has an extensive discography including 11 studio albums and a Christmas album.
Here’s to hoping there will be a glimpse at Mary’s inspirational life on stage sometime soon!
