Earlier this week, Matthew Knowes sat down for a SiriusXM interview with Mark Thompson, where he shared his thoughts on Lemonade, his relationship with Beyoncé, and which parts of the album were actually about him. But the interview didn’t go as smoothly as the “Make It Plain” host planned.
After requesting the interview, Matthew Knowles dodges a few questions and things get a little awkward. Thompson plays a few clips for Knowles, specifically, the clips about Bey talking to her mother about an abusive relationship and references to cheating. Knowles responds, “I have no reaction, sir. I know the response you want to get. You’re not going to get that response.” Later adding, “You’re sounding like a kid, asking me that” and adding that he doesn’t care what people think of him.

Throughout the interview, though, Knowles makes it clear that he’s incredibly proud of his daughter. “I am so proud of Beyonce because that means the body of work that she did has made that type of impact on the marketplace. Everybody’s talking about it, everybody’s tweeting about it.”

Knowles also brings up the idea of a Beyoncé/Solange project that many fans would love to see in the future. “I hope her and her sister, because Solange has a new album coming out. . .I look forward to both of them, two brilliant, young black females to partner up and really make a difference.”
Um. we’d definitely be down for a Beyoncé and Solange collaborative album. Ladies, please, get on that!
