Maurice White, founder of the band, Earth, Wind & Fire, has died.
The Associated Press reports the news of his passing as confirmed by his brother Verdine White who said the musician died in his Los Angeles home on Wednesday.

White was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and in 1995 he announced that he would no longer tour or perform with the group. Earth, Wind & Fire is known for timeless hits like “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Shining Star” and “After the Love is Gone.”
White was with the group when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. He was 74.
