Meagan Good and husband DeVon Franklin know all about waiting for “the one.” The couple remained celibate before saying “I do” in 2012.
Now they’re ready to share their wisdom in a new self-help book called The Wait.
“It’s that waiting period where we really get the most anxiety and the most frustration,” Franklin told Sister 2 Sister. “It’s all about how you handle the waiting period in life, from the relationship wait, to the marriage wait, to the career wait.”
The couple married in 2012 after a yearlong courtship in which Good shares she knew that he was the one because he agreed to wait until marriage to be intimate with her. How did the couple go so long without sex? “We held each other accountable because we honored the commitment,” Franklin told ESSENCE.com. “And we both were already committed to it.”
The Wait is slated for a 2014 release.
