After an eventful two days at the Republican National Convention, Melania Trump’s staff writer Meredith McIver publicly apologized for the results of her client’s speech and offered the Trump family her immediate resignation.
According to McIver’s official statement, which was snap shot of a Word document released via Melania’s Twitter page, Donald refused to accept her departure from the campaign and told her “people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from these experiences.”
Meredith goes on the detail her need to release a statement because she “did not like seeing the way this was distracting from Mr. Trump’s historic campaign.”
McIver, a Trump family friend and writer for the Trump organization, admits taking passages from Michelle Obama’s 2008 DNC speech for Melania’s RNC debut. “I wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in the draft that ultimately became the final speech,” said McIver. “I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches. This was my mistake, and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant.”

Good news is Melania's speech got more publicity than any in the history of politics especially if you believe that all press is good press!

And of course, no real circus would be complete without the ring master taking his final bow.
