Things are looking better for actor Michael Clarke Duncan after he went into full cardiac arrest last week. He is now on a respirator at a Los Angeles hospital and, according to TMZ, he is breathing above the respirator.
News broke of the actor’s heart condition last week. His girlfriend, reality star Omarosa, was able to resuscitate him after she found him in a state of cardiac arrest around 2 a.m. on Friday. She performed CPR on the 54-year-old before he was rushed to the hospital.
According to Duncan’s publicist, he suffered a myocardial infarction. He has been sedated since his hospital admission and doctors say the worse case scenario could be paralysis. As of now, TMZ reports his doctors have no plan to take him off the respirator, but say he has a very strong heartbeat.
Duncan is best known for his role as John Coffey in The Green Mile.
