Now that Michelle Obama has you moving, she wants you to “Drink Up.”
Today, the First Lady joined forces with the Partnership for a Healthier America to encourage everyone, especially children, to drink more water. According to the Center for Disease Control, one fourth of all children in America do not drink any water throughout the day.
“Since we started the Let’s Move! initiative, I’ve been looking for as many ways as possible to help families and kids lead healthier lives,” said Mrs. Obama. “I’ve come to realize that if we were going to take just one step to make ourselves and our families healthier, probably the single best thing we could do is to simply drink more water. That’s it—it’s really that simple. Drink just one more glass of water a day and you can make a real difference for your health, your energy, and the way you feel. So ‘Drink Up’ and see for yourself.”
In addition to putting together a major advertising campaign, which will include the “Drink Up” logo on thousands of different water products and more, the PHA is asking participants to visit www.youarewhatyoudrink.org to upload photos of themselves drinking water. Participants can also share photos via Instagram using the hashtag #drinkH20.
