In the latest installment of The Boss Lady Project sponsored by FORD, we speak with Kandi Burruss.
Anything Kandi Burruss sets her mind to do, she accomplishes. In 2017, the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter went from reality television and managing several businesses to touring with Xscape and jumping headfirst into Chicago on Broadway.
As a married mother-of-two, Burruss is definitely #goals, which is why she was the perfect mentee for Laina Ramey.
The 12-year-old is an aspiring actress with a love for Broadway. For Ramey’s ‘Boss Lady‘ experience, she spent the day with Burruss at a radio station and on the set of Chicago. It was the first time Burruss had been shadowed and Ramey impressed her enthusiasm with her infectious personality.
‘She [Ramey] wasn’t afraid to ask questions,” Burruss said. “She wasn’t afraid to show off her personality. And to me, that’s the making of a star. That’s the person you bring into the room and they get the job.”
After a long day of learning and laughing, Ramey walked away with a better understanding of how to succeed. “One thing I took away from Ms. Kandi was: Don’t wait to do what you want to do,” she said. “Do it as soon as you can.”
We couldn’t have summed it up better.
