Freeda Foreman, the daughter of former heavyweight champion George Foreman, has died. She 42.
A new TMZ report Monday claims Foreman died of an apparent suicide by hanging. Still, the coroner has yet to name a final cause of death.
Foreman’s body was found in her home near Houston, Texas by a family member. Local law enforcement officers say that a cause of death has yet to be announced, though foul play is not suspected.
Foreman chose to follow her father’s boxing footsteps, compiling a 5-1 record before retiring from the ring in 2001, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Her father, 70, an Olympic gold medal-winning boxer, went on to a successful professional career that included bouts against Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Since his retirement from boxing, George Foreman has become an equally successful entertainer, TV pitchman, and marketer of products, such as his George Foreman-brand grills.
Foreman broke his silence about his daughter’s death on Twitter.
“Daddy I want to Box,’Get an Education first’ I said, well she Brought The bacon home ( degree) 2 Kids 3 Grands (Husband) First Sunday in 42 years without my Freeda,” he wrote Sunday. “She’s With her maker now.10 kids forever. Just 1 more day I wanted okay 1 more year [and 1] more decade.”
