A 15-year-old Atlanta debate student stole our hearts this weekend after a heartfelt moment between her and Chase Consumer Banking CEO Thasunda Brown Duckett went viral.
Chloe Woods, a member of the Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project, was caught on camera giving Duckett her flowers when the CEO visited the program in Atlanta to talk to the scholars about financial planning and success.
“You are so inspiring, I can’t even express it to you,” Woods told Duckett with her peers standing behind her. “I think it is one thing to come into this building every Saturday and we’re so grateful to be here, but to see all these Black entrepreneurs doing so amazing.”
“But you’re the CEO of Chase like that’s my bank…,” she added. “Oh my God! And it’s just so amazing to see that you look like me and you’re able to do that and have that impact.”
“So thank you!” Woods concluded before giving Duckett a big hug.
Duckett—who oversees a banking network at Chase with more than $684B in deposits and investments, 5,300 branches, 18,000 ATMs and more than 47,000 employees–posted the video on her LinkedIn page.
“While in Atlanta I was able to pop in on the extraordinary Harvard Diversity Council Great Debaters! I left inspired by our youth! Thank you Mr. Brandon Fleming for being that impact teacher!! My cup is full!!”
We love it!
