Let the church say “amen.”
On New Year’s Eve, Rev. Raphael Warnock closed church services at Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist Church with a special wish for the New Year—for his longtime love, Dr. Ouleye Ndoye to become his wife.
After thanking friends and family, Warnock turned to Ndoye, and proposed before the entire congregation, reports Fox5 Atlanta.
“She is one of the most brilliant people I know… and one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen,” Warnock said to his congregation. He went on to pull out an engagement ring from a small red box and quote Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord,” Turning to Ndoye he asked, “So, will you do me a favor and be my good thing? Will you marry me?”
Ndoye is a graduate of Spelman College (’07) and the University of Oxford and is presently a Ph.D. candidate and teaching fellow at Columbia University in the City of New York.
Congrats to the happy couple.
