The feud wages on as Dr. Melissa Harris-Perry and MSNBC argued their case Wednesday on NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
The TV host and her network recently parted ways when MSNBC fired Harris-Perry after she had written a sharply worded note to colleagues. In her note, Harris-Perry had accused NBC executives of attempting to silence her.

Harris-Perry wrote, “our show was taken without comment or discussion or notice in the midst of an election season. I will not be used as a tool for their purposes. I am not a token, mammy or little brown bobble head.”

Her note is in reference to the network’s shift toward covering mostly politics in the election year. MSNBC President Phil Griffin, however, states that he was “surprised by the memo” and believed they had created “this really terrific program that we loved and that brought different voices and that was sort of a big part of the MSNBC sensibility.”

He goes on to state that the shift toward politics was “real but temporary” and that before she left it, The MHP Show was “safe.”
